Client Communication and Coaching Policies

I think in a great partnership it’s vital to know what we expect from each other if we’re going to get the most out of it. Hey, this is a lot like having a girlfriend or boyfriend or partner or mate – if you think we’re going to go out together once per week and I’m thinking we’ll be getting together four times per week, then clearly no one is going to be happy so let’s just get those expectations out up front right now.

What you can expect from me

  • When you hire me as your coach or on a major project I will be ready to hit the ground running.

I do this by doing my prep work for a full 2 weeks prior to us ever beginning. If we’re working on your website, I’ll have gone through the pages and I’ll have some ideas on how we can get things moving in the direction you desire. I give all my clients some “homework” upfront so I know exactly what you want and need.

  • Unless you ask me to please sugar coat things I’ll give you my honest opinion on whatever project we’re working on.

I totally understand that we all get attached to things, such as our websites, and certain changes can feel very painful. When I suggest a change it’s for good reasons that maybe you can’t see because you are so close to your own work. Of course, you are at liberty to take or discard anything I suggest and I see working together as a collaboration so don’t feel that I’m going to tell you what to do and you have to do it. Not. I fully respect that your project is your project but I know if you’ve hired me to help you then I’m always going to give you the best information I can with everything I know.

What I expect from you

  • When you hire me you should expect to do your part, your hard work.

The harder you work the more we can get done. It’s important to me that you get your money’s worth so let’s both dig in and get your business moving – fast.

Our Communication

I say what I mean and mean what I say and I do what I say I’ll do.

I will respond to your emails in a very timely manner during the work week.

If you have issues that are going to prevent you from carrying forward please let me know. If you’re sick or you have technical issues – hey a computer meltdown can temporarily slow us down – then please let me know. I know things happen in life and I’ll do my best to work around any issues and I hope you’ll do the same for me.

If either of us has to reschedule a “meeting” then let’s try our best to give each other at least 48 hours notice. If that’s not possible – if you’ve had to run your kid to urgent care because they put a Lego block in their nose again, I get it – so just alert me as soon as you can.

Refunds

If you drop off the face of the planet with no notice and I go over a week without hearing from you at all then I will consider our agreement null and void with no refund.

When I take you as a client I work very hard for you. I purposely limit the number of coaching and big project clients I have at any one time so I can do my absolute best for you. That also means that by taking you on, I couldn’t take someone else and I do need to be able to buy Legos for my kids so they can stick them in their nose.

So don’t just disappear on me. If something comes up and we need to put a project on hold, let me know and when you’re ready to roll again we’ll dig right back in or if you’d rather get a prorated refund we can do that.
